‘December’ is a part of that different place. Somewhere where personal storytelling is the main focus of every melody and beat.
The Wren, named after the official animal of her home state, Arizona, makes melodies from pain, which this writer loves and wants more of.
The new track is about accepting the truth of a situation. It’s about realising that you’re probably better off being single than with someone who isn’t right for you. A harsh reality to think about.
Intimacy is the name of the game at the beginning of the track, but by the end of the single it’s a banging, dynamic track. Something that others need to listen to.
The talented artist mentioned that “December” is about ‘removing the rose-coloured glasses of infatuation to see a heartbreaker for who he’s been all along. It’s a song about accepting the truth, seeing the good in not getting what you want, and realising that you’re probably better off being single than with someone who isn’t right for you.’
