Singer-songwriter Teddy Clarke unveils his first release of the year with ‘Broken Design’.
The new single from Teddy Clarke is a social commentary on world affairs and coming to terms with the anarchism that ensues from day to day.
Written with collaborators Analog & Digital, the single breaks down Teddy’s feelings towards the current state of the world, detailing how everything is seemingly descending into chaos and madness.
“I think the world is in a pretty crazy state at the minute. Everywhere you look there seems to be something more insane and scary than the last. I think it’s really hard to decipher how much of what we’re hearing is purely factual,” says Teddy.
“A big inspiration behind ‘Broken Design’ is the scaremongering from the media which seems to have been a catalyst for questioning how much of what we’re being told is true. I personally find it very hard now to believe what I’m being told by the media and politicians as a couple of months later everything seems to be backtracked.”
Teddy first started writing music in his early teens after being exposed to artists like David Bowie, Radiohead, Ben Howard and Don Mclean, who inspired him to write meaningful lyrics that he could resonate with. In 2018 he began working with producers Analog & Digital who are his sole collaborators and share a love for cinematic sounds.
