Fleur East returns with funk-infused ‘Count The Ways’.
It’s hard to imagine that Fleur East started as a songwriter and runner-up on The X Factor UK when she has since gone on to soar as the new icon of Saturday night television.
Albeit, no one can forget the absolute monster hit ‘Sax’ alongside East’s stellar performance of ‘Uptown Funk’ which catapulted her to the top of the iTunes UK chart, becoming the first contestant to do so whilst still competing on the show.
Her last body of work ‘Fearless’ in 2020 was her first independent release, and today she returns with her new single ‘Count The Ways’ to mark a comeback ahead of a string of new releases to look forward to later this year.
“I started writing this year and I just felt so inspired and everything just came back to me,” says Fleur.
“It’s been a while since I’ve done my own live show and I absolutely love performing. After being on Strictly every weekend, the buzz of performing came back. I absolutely love it, and I can’t wait for people to hear this new music. It’s coming from a different place, it’s a lot more mature – it comes from a real place.“
To test the waters of her new material, Fleur will be performing at the prestigious Union Chapel on March 16th – grab your tickers here.
